Best Eyeshadow Palette for Spring in 2021

Want a list of the top spring eyeshadow palettes available in 2021? You’ve come to the right place!

What makes this list different is that you’ll see a lot of the most well-respected indie brands on this list, since I think that indie brands kill it with their formulas over even many high-end Sephora brands.

With that, let’s get into it! I’m counting down my top picks, right down to the number one recommendation of the best eyeshadow palette for spring.

10. e.l.f. Mint to Be

The e.l.f. Mint to Be palette ($4) just came out here in early 2021, so it’s fresh for the pickin’. Everyone loves the formula and the price of these e.l.f. Bite Sized palettes, so this is your chance to grab one that’s perfect for spring to try out.

(Can’t get enough mint? Another great pick is the nine-shadow Colourpop Mint to Be palette that just barely didn’t make the list.)

9. Colourpop Garden Variety

This isn’t the only time a Colourpop palette will grace this list—so many of their palettes are great for spring, and it’s worth perusing their whole collection of palettes. But a list of the best eyeshadow palettes for spring wouldn’t be complete without the Colourpop Garden Variety palette ($20). This is one of their spring releases from last year, but it’s still just as perfect for spring this year if you didn’t snag it then.

The tones in here really do scream “garden,” with inspiration clearly taken from bright spring flowers, shoots, and potting soil. And with Colourpop’s great formula, you can’t go wrong.

8. Nomad Cosmetics Tokyo Harajuku

The Tokyo Harajuku palette by Nomad Cosmetics ($39) is an indie-lover’s favorite when it comes to pastel palettes. And as a bonus, the shades on the bottom row are sparkly multichromes. (Here’s more about what a multichrome is, if you aren’t familiar).

The brand says their formula is infused with camellia japonica oil “to make skin soft and silky smooth,” so these shadows even have benefits for your lids!

7. Anastasia Beverly Hills Amrezy

A great pick for springy colors and lots of shimmer is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Amrezy palette ($49). Of course, there are the lovely spring pinks and purples, but there’s also the bright blue shade to make this palette truly stand out. And you have six of Anastasia’s famous mattes to lay the base that will best showcase these shimmers.

In a sea of indie picks, this Sephora-brand palette is one of the few that make the cut as a recommendation I’m happy to put forth.

6. Give Me Glow Vivid Rose

If you’re looking for a formula that wows everyone who tries it, look no further than Give Me Glow. And as if the shadow quality wasn’t enough, their Vivid Rose palette ($45) is pretty much the perfect color story for spring. This palette lets you go bright and cheerful, rosy and romantic, or even sultry if you’re feeling in the mood for it. It’s the rare monochromatic palette where you can get a truly different look each time you use it. And the flower-inspired pinks make it a great seasonal choice.

5. Sydney Grace Tiny Marvels

If you’re looking for a truly unique color story (at least until the copycat Viseart Paris Love Letter Etendu came out), the Tiny Marvels palette ($52) by Sydney Grace and influencer Mel Thompson is your huckleberry. Full of soft, springlike colors—including that show-stealing green—the palette has gotten rave reviews from everyone who’s tried it.

If you haven’t tried the Sydney Grace formula, it’s definitely time for you to see what the fuss is about, and this is a great way to introduce yourself.

4. Colourpop Lil Ray of Sunshine

The Colourpop Lil Ray of Sunshine ($14) is an all matte palette that embodies a garden full of yellow flowers. There are earthy tones, but then there are those creamy goldenrods, too.

If you want to get in the mood for flowers blooming and the sun shining, this is the palette to get you there!

3. Kaleidos Lunar Lavender

If you haven’t tried the Kaleidos shadow formula, you’re missing out. And if you’re looking for a springtime gem, the Futurism IIV: Lunar Lavender palette ($24) is a great way to get to know the brand.

Their sci-fi aesthetic and fantastic packaging make their palettes fun to use, and the six-pan color stories of the Futurism palettes are always unique and well thought out. But out of all their palettes, this lavender one is the one to pick if you want to feel those springtime vibes.

2. Menagerie Pastel Pup

Oh listen, ye makeup lovers, as I sing you the song of the Menagerie Pastel Pup palette ($38.95). Currently my favorite palette in my collection, this spring beauty is in the number two spot for a reason. Pastels, famous for being chalky and icky in texture, go on like butter with this palette. They’re pigmented and smooth, and the color selection is just perfect for spring.

1. Colourpop Sweet Talk

The Colourpop Sweet Talk palette ($18) didn’t come out this year—or last— but it simply can’t be dethroned, even in 2021, as the best palette there is for spring. It’s neutral enough to create everyday looks while still having fun, sparkly pops, like the Super Shock Shadow called Prima Drama in the middle lefthand side. This, too, is a palette that’s well regarded by just about everyone who tries it. And the peaches and pinks are perfect to show how much you’re feeling spring!

That’s It!

And there you have it—my top pick for the best eyeshadow palette for spring. My hope was to give you the information that will help you decide which palette would best embody the season for you. And who knows. Maybe I’ve sparked your interest in your next favorite palette all around! After all, who doesn’t need a little spring in their lives all year long?
